It was the white patch on the top of the wing that also made me think it mi=
ght have been a rough-legged. It is so much to study them in a picture wher=
e they aren't moving!

Hi Paul
It is an odd looking white spot. I once photographed a Northern Harrier wit=
h a wing tag at Waterside In Pictou Co. It had been banded I think in Sackv=
ille NB before leaving the nest. The wing tag was coloured in that case. Th=
at this spot is white might be just an out of place feather, but has the ap=
pearance of a small wing tag. Just a thought. I googled Broad-winged bandi=
ng and got one result but it was radio tagging. Maybe others have some thou=
ghts on the white spot.
cheers
ken

Hi All,

For those who climbed Cape Spit on Sunday, and others who may be interested=
, here are some of the pictures that I took. It was a great day for me, bu=
t next time I will bring my donkey to carry the camera gear!

For Patrick Kelly - I think the hawk is a Broad-winged but the white spot o=
n the top outer wing is unusual? Maybe you or someone else can advise.
