Another friend had a picture of one that he had taken as it sat on an ice cake. So as I had to go to the store I drove along the shore. No dovekies that I could see - it was thought the storm had move them but lots of other interesting birds. About 20 Herring gulls - I didn't check them closely enough to see any strays. About the same number of Buffleheads. 30 or so Old Squaw or whatever they are called now. Still Cockeyes to me and to a lot of other folks. Anyway whatever the name they were having fun flying back and forth and splashing down. It was too windy to hear their calls but it was one of the sounds of winter growing up. Black ducks seem to arrived for the winter. I would estimate 100+ but I didn't count. There was a one Canada Goose with them. Normal size but very dark both the back and the neck. There was some mallards hanging around with them also. A pair of Loons were diving of the wharf. In quite close to shore. My apologies if I missed any! Enjoy the winter Paul ---1663062914-807132077-1389211890=:27928 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii <html><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:14pt"><div>Hi All</div><div>Last evening I heard reports that there was a number of Dovekies along</div><div>Western Shore just before the last storm.
