no next message in thread< Plenty of fledged young in my backyard. Grackles, Blue Jays, Starlings, Robins, Goldfinch, Doves and most impressive, a Purple Finch. The Purple Finch was fanning its wings as fast as a hummingbird- I thought it might take off vertically. The Cardinals have been sneaking into the yard to feed off the ground but no fledglings. The hummingbirds have been around but not at the feeders. I have three male Red-winged Blackbirds visiting, and today a female. I cannot tell if any of the males are this year's offspring. The Song Sparrows are active but again, I cannot tell if any are new offspring. A Junco appeared today and I typically do not have them in my yard in the summer. Missing here are the woodpeckers as I had at Downys last year.
