They were superb this year and some were bravely growing on the trail. On the way back on digby Neck by a pond that was on the side of the road away from the nearby ocean and stopped to watch five Great Blue Heron feeding in the same pond. The colours were fabulous. They were photographed from the car as apparently they are spooked quite easily by humans walking around. They were a sight to behold and made the dreary drive worthwhile.
