Index of Subjects I had a female northern cardinal foraging among the oak leaves around noon today. With its crest prominent, I thought it was a cedar waxwing and wondered why it was on the ground until it turned and I saw the bright orange beak and quite a black face. Only the second cardinal this year and ever in my yard, the other being a bright male on one feeder very briefly this spring. Ken MacAulay Port Mouton, NS
