We walked part of the Pockwock road yesterday looking for butterflies. One of those tractors which are used to mow the sides of highways was parked near the start of the road, and it turned out that the sides of the Pockwock road had just been cleaned up, so all the knapweed was gone. There were very few butterflies! We did see one Northern Pearly-eye, one Pink-edged Sulphur, and the highlight was finding that the little Bog Coppers are still present and on the wing in the bog near the fork in the road.
