Hello,                    May 23, 2012
    I tried them once many years ago and, perhaps by bad luck sampled a =
poor clone, but found them slimy, sour and disagreeable so never tried =
other patches.

    This is not uncommon with 'edible' wild plants, e.g. marsh greens I =
tried once were awful. But some are consistent winners; e.g. Atriplex =
shoot ends as greens and Lathyrus japonicus young pods when half grown.=20

  I just read on the =
internet=E2=80=94www.wildmanstevebrill.com=E2=80=94that Japanese =
knotweed shoots are edible, and very similar to rhubarb. Have any of =
you had experience with this? It would be lovely to discover that this =
is true.
