Dear All,

I highly recommend Bushell's Excursion line for an inexpensive quality
binocular with several nice features (nitrogen purged, roof prism,
armoured, multicoated optics). Allison has a nice pair of 8x42 from this
line, and we bought a pair of 10x42 for my father. Mine are Celestron Noble
10x50 roof prism, but I don't think they're made anymore. Both Bushnell and
Celestron sell binoculars that range from junk to fairly high end sets,
unlike a company like Swarovski that really sells excellent units across
their product range. My brother-in-law is very happy with his Nikon
Monarchs, which are similar in quality to the abovementioned sets, but a
little pricier.

I patronise the local Antigonish 5-to-a-dollar store, which has a good
selection of optics and digital camera gear.
