Index of Subjects Hi All, Today my wife and I were in Halifax for an appointment and decided to drive home along the South Shore. At East River Point (44.573747,-64.156682) we saw two turkey vultures soaring together heading west along the shore reasonably low above the beach there. I was surprised to see them here but with the heat I am sure that they can make good use of the thermals and cover a lot of distance, maybe these are the same birds that were seen above Inglis Street returning to the southwest where there are more expected. All of the beaches were in use by people enjoying the unusual warmth, we even saw kids in the water!! The couple who were in the deepest however, up to their thighs, seemed to be at least in their sixties! I tried, but managed to get only the soles of my feet in, the air was hot but the water was still frigid.
