It was with numerous Canada Geese & one obvious Snow Goose. The field is beside 2 or more large (greenhouse) tunnel houses. Dyke Road is at right angles & just N of Pothier Motors' road. Hopefully everyone understands that Eric's suspected Bean Goose (Saturday) was on College Road in Windsor. On Sunday these many hundreds of geese were on the opposite side of this large dykeland area & were very nicely viewed from Route 14, the road to Martock. The geese were very barely W of the built up area, almost opposite a church. But the geese were all Canada's on Sunday. Note: These geese appear to hang around out in the Avon River estuary until about 11 AM when they finally decide to go looking for brunch. A number of us wasted most of yesterday morning searching the entire area. As we prepared to go home, we made a final stop at the Windsor Tourist Bureau & after 5 minutes were able to observe numerous small flocks lift off & head inland. They flew directly to the Route 14 field, many small flocks arriving over 20-30 minutes. They could choose a different field today. Rick W. "Late this morning I watched as groups of Canada Geese began to accumulate in the pasture fields on the S side of College Road in Windsor, just past Kings-Edgehill School and more or less opposite the Manning retirement home."
