Present were Clay-coloured Sparrow, Indigo Bunting, Blue-head Vireo and four Baltimore Orioles. Several other small passerines in the flock remain unidentified. The group was moving towards the south-west. A couple of days ago I encountered and photographed a winter plumaged grey Ipswich Sparrow at Duncan Reef. The lack of yellow eyebrows with the overall grey colouration, pinkish bill and distinct complete eye ring had me stumped until Eric Mills provided some assistance. At Sandy Cove a steel blue Merlin overviewed the beach so no shorebirds were present. Along Sandy Cove Road I did encounter a Red-eyed Vireo. It was an absolutely stunning morning.
