Maybe the wildlife park is already doing educational outreach on this, and perhaps also the Oak Lawn Zoo in the Aylesford area, where the baby Blanding's turtles are head-started for a couple of years before releases back into the wild, where the grown juveniles have better chances of surviving than do the hatchlings.
