Index of Subjects We have had Monarch butterflies in our field and gardens pretty well all summer and have at least one still here. There was a very worn looking male that we first observed about a month ago and it was still around two days ago. The one today may have been the same, but I did not get a close look. We have two pupae that have to yield Monarchs yet. We have raised 31 adults over the summer and released them. We thought we were finished a week ago upon releasing the last of the batch but found these two as large caterpillars and brought them in. This year we tagged 25 of the butterflies as part of the Monarch Watch program (monarchwatch.org). Although continuing to survey our property, we have found no successful growth to adult stage by Monarchs in the wild this summer. Has anyone observed success in the wild?
