True enough, although Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are technologists rather than scientists (despite the "computer science" appellation). All manner of people have contributed to the development of computers including hardware and software engineers, and graphic designers who design interfaces and packaging. Behind the technology there is, of course, science, and contributions such as that of the late, great Nova Scotia Nobel laureate (in physics), Willard S. Boyle, who helped invent (amongst other things) the semi-conductor controlled lasers that are at the heart of all audio and computer CD systems; and the charge coupled device (CCD) used in computer memory, electronic filters, and signal processing as well as in every digital camera and every electronic telescope in the world. In any event, all three are pivotal figures in the development computer technology. The proof of their pudding, of course, has to do with what they accomplished and not with the formal qualifications they did or did not have.
