A carpet you could say with a few=0Aworn spots. Mus= t have been the correct combination of shade for them.=0AAlthough I've seen= pyrola growing here and there never have I seen a carpet=0Aof them like th= at. Has anyone seen similar spots?=0AAnother interesting plant that I saw w= as a Sweetbriar rose. - Rosa eglanteria.=0AThis rose had a lot of useful pr= operties and was valued by early settler - the hip=0Asyrup they made was us= ed for health in the winter. =A0It travelled over the world=0Awith early se= ttlers - in fact in Australia it is classified as an invissive and treat mu= ch=0Alike Purple Loosestrife here.=A0=0AHowever this lonely little plant ha= d managed to hang on over the years and was in=0Ano way a treat to anyone. = =A0Along with some forage plants and a few apples trees=0Ait remains the so= le survivors of the plants the people surely had.=A0=0AWhen I first went to= Keji in 73, the farmland had just a few scattered white pines=0Anot its a = forest but the original extent of the settlers hard work is easy to see.=0A= The evening programs are very interesting also and well recommended for fol= ks=0Ainterested in nature.
