In November 2009 the NS government received the Colin Stewart Forest Forum =
report (PDF: 2.5mb). This report identified 269=2C000 hectares of land with=
 high conservation values. The government has now identified possible =9312=
 per cent lands=94 for further review in Step 2. These include provincial C=
rown lands=2C and some lands owned by major forestry companies. To provide =
flexibility in decision making=2C more than 200=2C000 hectares of land is i=
ncluded in these 12 per cent selections. These 12 per cent lands are not pr=
oposed protected areas. However=2C government will select most of the propo=
