Hi Win
They only over-winter here. The first Breeding Bird Atlas had a possible from the barrens of Cape Breton, but basically from Alaska to southern Labrador is
breeding range. I had a group of up to 30 at my feeder for most of the winter. Most days lately, I see 5, but this morning there were 9. I live in Plymouth in Pictou Co. I think
my notes from last year said they left around this time. I will miss their nice song as they have been singing for almost 2 months now.
Other sparrows are moving in now as I had Savannah, Swamp and White-throated Sparrows singing at Big I. this morning. My first White-throat was at my feeder
on April 20.
Still have one or 2 Redpolls with a few Siskins and Gold and Purple Finches at my feeder.

cheers
Ken

"Sibley" and other books suggest that the tree sparrow nests further north of here (Truro) The six that have been here all winter , show no signs of moving on.Do they nest around here??
