--Boundary_(ID_uB1oBvLmmkgobvWI71m4sg) Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT MARCH 29, 2011 - Canning Aboiteau: only 26 Canada geese visible along the river, but no search done further toward town -- no snow goose seen -- 3 common mergansers together in river (2m,1f). Canard Pond (now about half open): 1 drake gadwall, 2 n. pintails (m,f pr), 1 female or immature common merganser resting on ice. Other ponds opening up very gradually, some still completely iced. I checked the bald eagle nest south of Stirling's Farm Market in Greenwich: definitely a white head of an adult eagle on/in the nest. This nest is quite distant from Hwy. 1, but the west side of the Stirling's greenhouse behind the market lines up closely (southward) for where to look, and a spotting scope is really necessary. Aim at some dead deciduous trees and look behind them in the pines, and try to notice the white eagle head. I also looked again at the Noggins Farm Market bald eagle nest, and there is no sign of any eagles there or nearby.
