Index of Subjects It is a gorgeous day here in White Point, especially if you are in out of the cold. It has been extremely slow as far as birds are concerned the past couple weeks. Just a few Chickadees mostly with the usual number of Mourning doves which come early and again much later. Yesterday the 2 Grackles came back, as well as a red breasted nuthatch. We had a quick visit from a male redwinged blackbird. Today there were about 20 juncos; they started coming last week early am and late dusk but were always sent packing by the large flock of Starlings. So far today, that group seems to be dwindling. So far today I have seen 5 lovely male White Throat Sparrows, a couple Song and 3 American tree sparrows. One of the tree sparrows is the size of a chipping but the eye mark says tree. The Northern Flicker visited the feeder briefly and a wonderful treat was a tree full of Waxwings. I took a photo of them and hope to down load that soon. Still missing are robins, cowbirds and orioles I have become used to. Now quite late in arriving back. In another two weeks, about the "eye of March", I will put out a hummingbird feeder. best regards, Marg Millard, White Point, Queens http://MargMillard.ca
