Pine Grosbeak Feb. 21 SE of Goose Neck Cove, which is at the very NE end of Black River Lake, Kings Co. There were 3 M, 3 F quietly feeding at the tops of mature spruce trees. I was able to climb a nearby rise & obtain 6 photos, adequate for ID purposes. Two photos have been sent to Blake Maybank. I predicted I wouldn't "dig out" any more species for the DOWL & I meant that. But I was after Spruce Grouse, which I last saw in Kings Co. 28 years ago. Others have seen it. I did tell my wife that Pine Grosbeaks were conceivable. She said Ralph the Pelican was about equally likely and I pretty much agreed. -- Rick Whitman
