Has anyone else reported or noted this. From the photos which are = not the best they suggest two separate groups one behind the other of snow = geese. =20 =20 Sincerely=2C =20 James =20 To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca=3B hennigar@xcountry.tv From: jimwolford@eastlink.ca Subject: [NatureNS] more on eagles + dead barred owl & ruffed grouse=2C + p= ine warbler Date: Mon=2C 31 Jan 2011 18:07:31 -0400 Jan. 30=2C 2011 (Eagle Watch=2C cont.) - Another highlight of sorts was rep= orted twice to me in the hall: apparently at least 3 would-be photographers= at the feeding site west of the hall had folding chairs for their comfort = in waiting long periods for some eagle activity -- weather was perfect for = spending lots of time outdoors. Also I heard from friends that at least s= ix cars at the feeding/viewing site had Quebec license plates=2C and I talk= ed with a few Quebecois in the community hall. ------------------------ At home we got a call from south Kentville about a large bird that was foun= d dead=2C presumably window-killed=2C this morning -- the finders identifie= d it as an immature red-tailed hawk?=2C BUT NO=2C when I picked it up today= from them=2C it was a ruffed grouse! It has now been deposited in a freez= er of Acadia Univ. Biology=2C along with a presumed road-kill barred owl fo= und dead in Kentville by Bob Cote on Jan. 28. Also Sherman Bleakney returned to Wolfville on Jan. 27th after a month in T= oronto=2C and all of his feeder-birds from mid-December were still present= =2C including his bright pine warbler. Sherman's house is at the top of Ke= nt Ave.=2C #84=2C and the feeders are all in his back yard close to the hou= se and his desk window -- his phone number is 542-3604. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville. = --_b8a4919c-4782-4998-a211-160927f56fe8_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<body class=3D'hmmessage'> Hi Jim and others:
=3B
Some friends =3Bwent to the eagle watch on Saturday and they took a pic= ture of two groups of white birds =3Bflying high in V formation above t= he eagle watch area. =3B Has anyone else reported or noted this. = =3B From the photos which are not the best they suggest two separate groups= one behind the other of snow geese. =3B
=3B
Sincerely=2C
=3B
James
=3B

To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca=3B hennigar@xcountry.tv
From: jimwolford@eas= tlink.ca
Subject: [NatureNS] more on eagles + dead barred owl &=3B ru= ffed grouse=2C + pine warbler
Date: Mon=2C 31 Jan 2011 18:07:31 -0400

<DIV style=3D"MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px=3B MARGIN-LEFT: 0px=3B MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px">= <FONT style=3D"FONT: 12px Helvetica" size=3D3 face=3DHelvetica>Jan. 30=2C 2= 011 (Eagle Watch=2C cont.) - =3BAnother highlight of sorts was r= eported twice to me in the hall: apparently at least 3 would-be photogra= phers at the feeding site west of the hall had folding chairs fo= r their comfort in waiting long periods for some eagle activity -- weather = was perfect for spending lots of time outdoors. =3B Also I heard from = friends that at least six cars at the feeding/viewing site had Quebec li= cense plates=2C and I talked with a few Quebecois in the community hall= .
<DIV style=3D"MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px=3B MARGIN-LEFT: 0px=3B MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px">= <FONT style=3D"FONT: 12px Helvetica" size=3D3 face=3DHelvetica>------------= ------------
<DIV style=3D"MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px=3B MARGIN-LEFT: 0px=3B MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px">= <FONT style=3D"FONT: 12px Helvetica" size=3D3 face=3DHelvetica>At home we g= ot a call from south Kentville about a large bird that was found dea= d=2C presumably window-killed=2C this morning -- the finders identif= ied it as an immature red-tailed hawk?=2C BUT NO=2C when I picked it= up today from them=2C it was a ruffed grouse! =3B It has now be= en deposited in a freezer of Acadia Univ.
