Note-numbers are estimates only. We saw 10 Song Sparrows, 4-5 Lincoln sparrows(not quite sure and no pictures of course), 20 Bohemian Waxwings (one lovely picture), a bunch of Starlings, and a couple Crows. Lots of birds here and also lots of dog poop. We then went out to Duncan Cove/Chebucto Head. Our first stop was Sir Sandford Fleming Park and walked around the Frog Pond. We saw BC Chickadees, one Brown Creeper, couple of Mallards, couple of American Black Ducks and Starlings. Further along the road to Duncan Cove, we saw couple of crows, a bunch of Rock Doves, and one strange "duck" that turned out to be a stick. At Chebucto Head, couple of Black-capped Chickadees. At Sandy Cove, we saw a large amount of Starlings (over 200). No pictures as they were all along the wire but when the light strikes them, the little radiance spots glimmer and shine. I must try for a picture so Ian can put it on the cover of Birds NS to show how beautiful Starlings are-yeah I know that some folks consider them to be flying rats but stunning all the same. No Horned Larks yet Blake/Ian. By the way, a salix spp. (a pussy willow) at Chebucto Head was out in bloom. Tuma Young Halifax Koqwaqja'tekaq'tinej.
