Together we found the following: Dominion: Buffleheads Mallards Song Sparrow Black-capped Chickadees Baltimore Oriole Ravens American Crows House Sparrows Black-backed Gulls Herring Gulls Ring-billed Gulls Long-trailed ducks American Black Ducks Beacon Street Dam: Mallards Canada Geese American Wigeons American Coots (three) Ruddy Duck Black-backed Gulls Herring Gulls Ring-billed Gulls Jump the fence Ducks (mixed species duck) Rock Doves Buffleheads Crows American Black Ducks Schooner Pond: Bald Eagle White-winged Crossbills Red-throated loons American Crows Golden Eyes Red-breasted Mergansers Port Morien Wharf: Surf Scoters American Bald Eagle Starlings South Head: Gray Jays Barred Owl (Lifer) Golden-crowned Kinglets Barn Swallow American Pipit Black-capped Chickadees Black-headed Gulls American Black Ducks Port Morien Bar: 2 Great-blue Herons 4 American Bald Eagles Black-backed Gulls American Crows Canada Geese White-winged Scoter (lifer) Glace Bay Sanctuary: 40 Golden eye Common Mergansers Hooded Mergansers Red-breasted Mergansers Common Redpolls American Black Ducks Nick saw a flock of Snow buntings at the Sydney Airport on Friday but were not there today. Still on the hunt for the elusive Spruce Grouse and we want to take pictures of the Common Redpolls. Only pictures today was of the Long-tailed Ducks and the American Coot-the light was terrible so we just enjoyed looking. Ian-I am still looking for that Horned Lark, none so far.
