I could see no light flecks on the back=2C b= ut it did hold its bill tilted up like a Red-throated=2C although the bill = itself appeared straight. The light was fading and it disappeared behind s= ome rocks before I could note more details. I note that Sibley=2C unlike o= ther field guides that I checked=2C shows a Red-throated Loon with a dark w= inter plumage=2C so perhaps that is what it was. The weather does not look= promising tomorrow=2C but if anyone=2C especially with a camera=2C can get= over there to check it=2C it could be worth while. The only other water b= irds noted were the usual gulls=2C Common Eiders=2C Red-breasted Mergansers= =2C and Long-tailed Duck=2C but the tide was fairly low. Wayne P.
