David Walmark and I went to Lower Rose Bay to Conrad's Island this morning.=
I was able to rescue a dovekie there. It was in a small pool area with h=
ardly any water. Certainly not enough water to take off from. I was able =
to pick the dovekie up and release it to the ocean. It sat and looked at m=
e for a minute and then started to paddle full steam ahead. If I were to p=
ut human emotions to a bird it looked very happy. It's looks were dejected=
and sullen but once it realized that it was back in a natural environment =
it looked very alert and bright. =20
