All:

I spent the day with Pauly Sykes of Georgia, beginning of course with
the Greylag Goose. We arrived at the quarry along Hiway 311 at about
08:45 to find Canadas but no Greylag. Within a few minutes the Greylag
came in with a small group of Canadas and landed on the water on th e
far side of the stone island in the quarry, affording excellent scope
study.

That done, we went west on the Masstown road and covered all the
previous goose sites - nothing on either the McKinley or McWilliam
roads, but there was a good flock of Canadas on the shore Road site
where Eric Mills first discovered the Greylag.

We then went back to the quarry to find that the Greylag had either
gone or waa hiding behind the aforementioned island. Howver, we then
checked out a small lake immediately south of thr quarry - near house
601 - and found the Greylag sitting among large numbers of Canadas.

Obviously the goose moves around somewhat, but seems focussed on the
quarry area and the adjacent cornfield since leaving the McKinley Rd.
site.

We spent rest of the day visiting Metro hotspots, including the
Sackville cementary, where neither we nor others found the previously
reported goodies. Pt. Pleasant Park was equally frustrating, and there
was nothing much around St. Mary's U. or Marlborough Woods, the Waeg
and Thornhill, etc.

Cheers, Ian
