Hi folks,

I was out on Saturday during and after Hurricane Earl to observe the
course of the storm. I was greatly surprised to find over a dozen
(aptly named) storm-petrels deep within the Northwest Arm (I was
watching them from the gazebo at the base of Jubilee Road). All the
ones I could see clearly were Leach's Storm-Petrels. Also one Red-
necked Phalarope buffeted about by the winds.

Yesterday I spent the day along the coast by Ketch Harbour. No unusual
pelagic birds there, although there were lots of Gannets close in and
a couple of Whimbrels on the moors

Cheers,

Chris
