My initial reaction was that it was a young cougar and upon further research online today I am certain it was an Eastern cougar. It was relatively low to the ground, fawn in color with a long tail and a round cat-like face. It was moving so fast that I was unable to slow down (going around 80km an hr); I believe it was under my car for a second or two and as I looked in the rear view mirror it was no where in sight. I went back with my uncle and we walked up and down the road but it wasn't in the ditch nor could we hear it in the nearby woods. I was quite shocked to see it because this is a relatively well populated area and it was at 2pm in the afternoon. I know this animal is on the endangered species list so I wanted to report this sighting. If there is any other information I can provide, please let me know. Allison MacIsaac
