Most wildflowers are later by at least 2-3 weeks as compared to Halifax. We'll check the bog this evening. I found and photographed, many times, the Tennessee Warbler this morning. This is a coup for me as the only photo I had on record was from Newfoundland and Labrador. Yes we were there yesterday evening, as we are most evenings. It's a lovely walk, rich in flora and fauna and almost no vehicular traffic. Hans ----- Original Message ----- From: david&jane schlosberg To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 11:07 AM Subject: RE: [NatureNS] Sandy Cove today, 4:00-6:00pm Thanks, Hans. I finally found it in my Peterson & McKenny. It's listed as "habenaria clavellata". Thanks. By the way, were you there yesterday evening, after 6:00? ( We saw a couple with camera equipment on our way out, but we were pre-occupied with our muffler, which had just died; so, we didn't stop.) If so, I wonder if you saw our pink flower, which I hope I identified correctly as "calopogon pulchellus". I would like to get a more expert opinion on that one! Jane p.s. We also saw a mink on the rocks--apparently they're common out there. -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca]On Behalf Of Hans Toom Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 6:27 AM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: Re: [NatureNS] Sandy Cove today, 4:00-6:00pm Try Platanthera clavellata.
