Last Thursday, June 17, was a foggy, cold day on Briar, but we went out
on a whale-watching trip anyway. No whales were seen that day, but Don
and I saw quite a few N. Fulmars so we were very happy with our trip.
There were also Greater and Sooty Shearwaters, N. Gannets, Atlantic
Puffins and Wilson's Storm Petrels. The Fulmars were life-listers for
us as we rarely get out on the water for pelagics.

On Wednesday, the 16th, we saw a Roseate Tern, after 5-6 hrs. of
searching, at the end of Pond Rd., L. West Pubnico. We even have some
photos to prove it! The Tern Festival this weekend is recommended for a
much easier sighting of this species.
