Today at 4:30 pm on Brow Mountain Road North of Berwick, a female
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER, strangely, sitting in a pothole in the middle of the
dirt road. Flew off as i drove near, then returned to the pothole. Habitat
was a wet forested area with standing dead spruce and alder/willow
understory. No sign of a male yet.

All the best,
James.
