The Ruddy Duck pair are still on the marsh as of this morning (Thurs =
June 10th). They are usually more to the centre of the marsh, so a good =
pair of binocs is in order if you want to check them out.

Also - here is what's on the marsh now, or what I've seen recently:
4 pr of Canada geese with young ( 1 pr with young 1-1/2 wks old)
3 Wood Duck families (one with 15 young); I've seen as many as 15 Wood =
Duck males;
several Black Ducks with young;
1 Mallard family (plus a number of Mallard males and Mallard crosses);
at least 2 pr of pied-billed grebes with young;
1 Ring-necked Duck female with 4 young (seen once); several males;
Painted Turtles basking in the sun - have seen 4 nests dug up and eggs =
eaten;
Muskrats galore;
Sora rails; have seen 2, heard several;=20
1 American Coot;
Many Yellow Warblers, several Common Yellowthroats and Yellow-rumped =
Warblers;
Many tree swallows, some still building nests in nesting boxes; have =
seen Barn & Cliff Swallows also;
Leopard frogs;
Northern Shovelers ( I think one female may be nesting);
Blue- & Green-winged Teal (females likely nesting);
1 Hooded Merganser female earlier in the season;
Great Blue Herons;
1 Yellowlegs (still can't tell the difference between Greater & Lesser);
1 pr Gadwalls;=20
Alder Flycatchers (heard but not seen);
Many Red-winged Blackbirds & Common Grackles;
And of course Song Sparrows, Goldfinches, Robins, Blue Jays, Seagulls, =
the occasional Northern Flicker, Kingfisher, Mourning Dove, Downy & =
Hairy Woodpeckers - and White-tailed deer;
Several Double-crested Cormorants
Many Buffleheads earlier in season
