--Boundary_(ID_Uij6BkCyTP++e0xCu5k6kg) Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT I have a photo somewhere in my slide collection, from several years ago, that shows a flicker actually pulling a starling out of a nest- cavity! I have just surprised myself by actually finding it in my slides file, and it is two photos from Birder's World, perhaps the April? 1991 issue, if anyone knows where a set of them resides. I'm of course technologically inept, so I cannot scan it and make it digital, and, if I could, I don't know how to handle and send digital photos! (hopeless). Three cheers that such an eviction CAN HAPPEN! (BUT I continually remind myself not to pick favourites out there in nature, not even native species vs. established aliens -- and I used to preach the same thing in my university classes. ) Cheers from Jim in Wolfville Begin forwarded message: > From: James Hirtle <jrhbirder@hotmail.com> > Date: May 5, 2010 6:19:59 PM ADT > To: Naturens Naturens <naturens@chebucto.ns.ca> > Subject: [NatureNS] Nest swapping > Reply-To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca > > I've been watching a pair of starling at a nest hole on a pole for > weeks now.
