One of our researchers, Rob Ronconi, is on a cruise on the CCGS Hudson =
on the Laurentian Fan off Nova Scotia (approximately south-east of Cape =
Breton, where the continental slope drops off) and saw a group of about =
40 sooty shearwaters on May 2. The greater shearwaters that he helped =
tag last fall on Gough and Inaccessible Islands in the South Atlantic =
have not, however, started their northward migration, although all are =
positioned along the Argentinean coast in an important staging area for =
them. http://www.seaturtle.org/tracking/index.shtml?project_id=3D452

The two remaining herring gulls carrying satellite tags are back at =
their nesting island (Kent Island, south of Grand Manan) where they were =
tagged late last May, after spending the winter in the Chesapeake Bay =
area. http://www.seaturtle.org/tracking/index.shtml?project_id=3D428
