To add to yesterday's birds, a white-throated sparrow and a yellow-rumped warbler (singing his little heart out in the fog!) just arrived in my yard this morning.

Subject: [NatureNS] Some new arrivals

This morning, I was pleased to see the first chipping sparrow and yellow-bellied sapsucker of the year in my yard. There was also a sharp-shinned hawk hanging around, and a variety of other songbirds (both kinglets, hermit thrush, robin, chickadees, gold- and purple finches, juncos and song sparrows).

Also, last night we had a woodcock doing its display flights, and a barred owl calling.

And yesterday afternoon, we had our first kestrel of the year.
