Most of the time they seemed to find feed offshore and I only saw a couple of dead birds which is low for our area of Florida. I did do a rescue operation for one immature bird. It came ashore in a storm and appeared to be uninjured, just exhausted. It would not have survived on the beach where the bobcats hunt at night so I took it to the Indian River lagoon to the calm water and it recovered well and eventually managed to take off and fish in the lagoon, the first time I have ever seen a gannet fish that water.
