I took my first walk this morning along the St. Margaret's Bay Trail to Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park(HRM). The conditions were windy and chilly but the birds are returning. Highlights included; Ruby-crowned Kinglet(1), Dark-eyed Juncos(20++), Red-breasted Nuthatch(1), Hermit Thrush(10+), Swamp Sparrow(20++), Common Loon(1) and an Osprey(1) fishing on Round Lake. Lots of American Robins, Black-capped Chickadees, Purple Finches, Golden-crowned Kinglets and American Goldfinches were also present. Downy Woodpecker and Hairy Woodpecker were acting territorial. This is a high yield location and always worth a visit yet it will continue to get busier and busier.

I got lots of photos.

Hans
