Haligonians have inherited a veritable greenbelt of the former =
'watershed lands,' which now form Long Lake Provincial Park (including =
Long and Spruce Hill lakes), much of the future HRM regional park at the =
Western Common (Ragged, Blueberry, Otter, and Big Indian lakes), the =
Chain Lakes "park," and the unnamed HRM-owned lands along Moores and Big =
Five Bridge lakes, site of a proposed water storage reservoir that was =
never built.=20

On Easter Monday, April 5, Industrial Heritage Nova Scotia will be =
presenting a lecture by Carl Yates, general manager of Halifax Water. He =
is the person behind the publication a few years ago of a history of the =
City of Halifax water commission. The title of the lecture is =
Development of Halifax Water Supply. It will be held at the Marine =
Museum of the Atlantic on Lower Water Street, starting at 7:30 PM.
