ut a week ago=2C my dog went running off the trail in a spot that he usu=
ally goes running and barking off the trail=2E A few days before that he=
 had treed a raccoon=2C so I assumed that was what he was up to again=2E=
 =3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3EA m=
inute later he came out of the trees with a skull ( animal of some sort =
) in his mouth=2E I caught a glimpse of the fur and thought it was the r=
accoon=2E ( It had been there for a few days=2C picked clean=2C no brain=
s=2C but fur and nose still there=2E The front and face mostly=2E )=3Cbr=
 =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3EThen I sa=
w the nose=2C it was definitely not a raccoon=2E I though maybe a rabbit=
 as the neighbors have some loose around the woods=2E But the ears didn=27=
t fit=2E I actually thought for a second =26quot=3B OMG=2E There is such=
 thing as a jackalope=2E=26quot=3B=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3E=3Cb=
r =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3EAll this took about 10 seconds to run thro=
ugh my mind as the dog came towards me with his prize=2E I got it from h=
im and am now really quite perplexed as to what it could be=2E It is def=
initely cat like=2E But the long teeth- canines on a dog- are just under=
 an inch long=2E The part of the of the skull that=27s left is about 3 i=
nches=2E Not a fox and anything dog like=2E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22=
 /=3E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3EI took many pictures with a tape =
measure and still have the skull in a baggie in the shed=2E When I went =
to get my camera I thought it set it out of reach of my dog=2C but he ma=
naged to get a few more chomps on it before I got out again=2E I couldn=27=
t find any other parts or carcass around the field or the trees where it=
 was=2E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=3E=3Cbr =5Fmoz=5Fdirty=3D=22=22 /=
=3EI checked ermine/ weasel and it=27s bigger than that but smaller than=
 a cat=2E Although I suppose it could have been a big house cat=2C but t=
he teeth=2E=2E=2E I was thinking maybe a pine marten but the coloring do=
esn=27t seem to match=2E It=27s the teeth that I can=27t quite place=2E=3C=
