         This afternoon while driving along Jubilee Road in south end 
Halifax, I noticed that the American Elms were coming in to 
bloom.   This is about three weeks early, compared to my observations 
from previous years (see below).  Red maples are not yet in bloom, 
but have huge buds, just waiting for the sun to return.  Has any one 
else noticed how green the grass has become, with the recent rain?
