I posted the photos I took of eagles in Shubenacadie here and a few from Gr=
and Pre (a fox and and a distant, fuzzy shot of the white red-tail) here. M=
ost were taken at some distance (the squabbling juvenile eagles were at lea=
st 50m away) and some are heavily cropped, but it was fun taking them, and =
I got a couple nice shots out of it. I even got a picture of the banded eag=
le, though there's no way to read the numbers.=0A=0AThere were two ruffed g=
rouse in the yard yesterday, awkwardly perching on twigs and eating buds. T=
he yard also hosted the first evening grosbeak of the year yesterday, altho=
ugh it merely sat in a tree calling and did not come to the feeder. =0A=0AA=
nd this morning, I found some fresh bobcat tracks in the snow at the edge o=
f the property. I've yet to see the bobcat itself, though I've occasionally=
found tracks here (most recently, in late December).=0A=0AKathleen MacAula=
