I know the powers that read the weather say flurries but the birds here
today are saying "snow event!!" Along with plenty of the usual, I now have a
chipping sparrow, a red-winged blackbird and three robins, one of whom is
hanging really close to the apple site drop.
There is a small hawk hunting, we can't say for sure what it is; I would go
with a sharp-shinned but Steve leans to a Merlin. I haven't seen it fly. He
did get several photos but they aren't great. Our little digital is getting
tired again, I fear. There are white feathers on the back toward the sides.
When the sun comes out there is a lot of singing but when the flurries come
along the silence is deafening.
Beat regards,
Marg Millard
