This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_8w94XiYX2S/wUkfpCRcoSg) Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT To: all From: John Sollows Date: Jan. 13/09 Unusual winter birds this year at our place on Wyman road, just outsde Yarmouth, so far include a flicker and a catbrd, reported by others. However, late in he afternoon of Jan. 11, we had a raptor which seemed simlarly out of place. Our dog had found the nether end of a rabbit, whih he left in the snow of the back yard, about twenty feet from the house. When I looked ot abot 4 PM., there was a hawk tearing away at the corpse. Dark head and white breast: My initial thought was a red-tail. Then, as the bird shifted, I noticed the white went further down to the belly. Then the bird presented a view with its back towards us, showing a longish, cross-banded tail. Hmm ... not a red-tail. As the bird shifted its wings, it showed a white rump. How common are over-wintering harriers? --Boundary_(ID_8w94XiYX2S/wUkfpCRcoSg) Content-type: text/html; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" http-equiv=Content-Type> <META name=GENERATOR content="MSHTML 8.00.6001.18854"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>To: all</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>From: John Sollows</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Date: Jan. 13/09</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Unusual winter birds this year at our place on Wyman road, just outsde Yarmouth, so far include a flicker and a catbrd, reported by others. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>However, late in he afternoon of Jan. 11, we had a raptor which seemed simlarly out of place.
