The only other thing it could possibly= be is a Cooper's hawk, but it has the small head, teardrop body shape and = dark nape of a sharp-shin. The tail shape (which is the most famous charact= er for distinguishing these species - square tail =3D sharp-shin, rounded t= ail =3D cooper's) is hard to see in these photos, but it looks like the out= er tailfeathers are longer, which would mean the tail is more square, provi= ding further evidence for sharp-shin. And of course, sharp-shins are a lot = more likely in Nova Scotia than Cooper's. =0A=0AI could be wrong though - I= have zero experience identifying actual Cooper's hawks!
