Hi Patrick and all - Happy New Year! I presume the Centre Burlington 
Sandhills are the Lesser, Grus canadensis canadensis, which breed quite 
widely throughout North America, (although we are awaiting our first NS 
breeding record). Perhaps others on line have joined the International 
Crane Foundation?  Dr. George Archibald from the Sherbrooke area, is a 
co-founder, and works world wide to protect these magnificent birds. An
