Hi Blake & All

Here are a few additions I can make to the Winter list

American Woodcock Dec 7th & 9th below my house
Dovekie Canso harbour
Northern Parula Dec 9th Canso (behind June Jarvis' old place)
Palm Warbler Dec 9th Canso (behind June Jarvis' old place)
Clay-colored Sparrow Canso (John Nickersons by the hospital)
Savannah Sparrow Canso Marina
Grasshopper Sparrow Canso Marina
Dickcissel 3 @ my feeders
Purple Finch 2 @ my feeders through the week

Although already on the list i've been feeding up to 9 Orioles (8m 1f). =
The last couple days this # was down to 6 all (m).

Subject: [NatureNS] Winter Bird List Update

  Hi Everyone;

Today is the first day of the Christmas Bird Count period, and in =
anticipation of you heading out to assist in the various counts I've =
updated the Nova Scotia Winter List Page. With recent reports we've =
filled in many of the gaps but we've a long way to go to even get close =
to the long term average. The Winter List Web Page is:

  tinyurl.com/nswinter

There are plenty of "easy" birds to be found -- Purple Finch, Horned =
Lark, Savannah Sparrow, Brown Creeper, Lapland Longspur, Dickcissel, =
etc. Fight the winter blues -- "Go Birding!", as Mike King would say.

  Cheers,

  Blake
