Hi there,

I haven't been to the Frog Pond in Fleming Park, Jollimore lately
myself, but this evening brought several reports of recent birds in
that area. I was chatting with Susan Hunt who lives just west of the
park, and she told me that a female Red-bellied Woodpecker is regular
again this fall in her yard. She also told me that she saw a Great
Blue Heron today at the Frog Pond. That's a pretty late report for this area.

When I came home this evening I found a message on my answering
machine from Fred Greig, who lives on Kirk Road on the east side of
the park, and he reported that he had a blackbird this afternoon at
his feeders which he thinks was a Brewer's Blackbird. He did not
give a lot of details, but said his attention was drawn to it because
it was smaller and slimmer than a Grackle, and the call note was
different from either a Red-winged or a Rusty Blackbird. It arrived
with some Blue Jays. He will be looking for it again tomorrow.

	Cheers,

	Patricia L. Chalmers
	Halifax
