Hi:

Yesterday Ian Roseby alerted us to Lesser Black-backed Gulls=2C north of hw=
y221 between Dodge Rd and Vault Rd in a field which had been harvested of i=
ts corn crop.

When we arrived there were about 60 gulls approx. 40 metres from the edge o=
f the road so we got a very good look for a few minutes. Most were Herring =
G.=2C various stages.
We decided at least 4 were Lesser Black-backed=2C and 3 were Ring-billed
=20
In the same location=2C south of hwy221=2C there were 100+Mallards a few Bl=
ack Ducks and 4 C. Geese. Before we left they all relocated to a pond that=
 was a short distance away=3B sharing it with cattle that had waded in=2C k=
nee deep=2C to drink! When drinking with ducks=2C act like ducks...
On our way home=2C just after turning south on Dodge Rd. Barbara spotted a =
Red-tailed Hawk on a fence post about half the distance from the ducks and =
geese. Shortly after I had set up the scope it decided to take off and appr=
oached the ducks and geese=2C causing them all to take off. =20
=20
Cheers=2C Barbara and Pat 		 	   		 =20
