It was another day of heavy day-time Robin migration. A steady stream of
Americans Robins was seen flying east to west along the Northumberland
Strait for about 3 hours this morning. Total numbers were at least several
hundred.

My first Snow Bunting of the fall/winter was at Arisaig Point.

Some of the birds on Big Island, Pictou County today were:

50 Dunlin, 14 Semipalmated Plovers, 4 Sanderlings, 2 White-rumped
Sandpipers, 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 7 Horned
Grebes, and 7 Horned Larks.

I reported the sightings below about storm-petrels and Harlequin Duck on
last Tuesday but I believe the message never went through.

Robins were still moving along the Northumberland Strait today, although in
smaller numbers than yesterday. Instead of northeasterly, today they were
headed west. West and southwest are the pre-dominant direction for diurnal
passage in the fall along the Northumberland Strait.

There was also a movement of seabirds including Gannets, Boneparte's Gull,
and Storm-Petrels. In 30 minutes, 6 storm-petrels passed by the beach. They
included 4 Wilson's and 2 Leach's.

At Arisaig Point there was a Harlequin Duck and 3 Semipalmated Plovers.
