I loo= ked hard, but didn't see any unusual waterfowl, however there was a killdee= r in with them. By Saturday, the corn must have all been cleaned out, becau= se the field was empty.=0A=0ASaturday morning I led my first birding field = trip at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, taking a small group around the wet= land trails out behind the Greenwing Legacy Center. It went very well, and = there were a few good birds - the highlight for me was my first-ever Yellow= -breasted Chat, but sadly I was the only one who saw it since it quickly di= sappeared into the bushes. A Greater Yellowlegs made a noisy appearance and= gave everyone good views, and a pair of pintails in amongst the mallards w= as nice to see. There were also good numbers of songbirds, with two common = yellowthroats and a yellow-rumped warbler in with a chickadee/kinglet flock= .
